KAOS - DEMO COLLECTION (1979.-1984.)

KAOS (Eng. "Chaos")was a Croatian Punk/New Wave band established in 1979 and a part of the Rijeka music scene in Croatia (Hrvatska, at that time a part of a former Yugoslavia). Band members were Neven Braut (guitar), Robert Zambata (bas), Tea Josipovic (vocal), Andrej Urem (drums), Emil Zauhar (keyboard), Igor Glumac (keyboard), Zvonimir Pliskovac (artwork). They claim their influences in bands like The Clash, Ramones, PIL, Nina Hagen, Siouxie and the Banches, Talking Heads and etc. KAOS toured in Zagreb, Rijeka, Ljubljana, Beograd etc. Despite of their popularity at the time, the band did not release an official album until 2010. where are the 14 tracks present on the album 'KAOS 1979-1984'. On it are all original recordings from that period. What I am bringing you today are 14 songs from them that period of time, that I managed to collect over the internet, since I didn't get that remastered CD, so experience how that originaly sounded on recorded tapes. What you can hear on it is some unique punk and post punk music mixed with Tea's '77 female psychotic vocals that I personally adore so much! As I heard, band split-up, because Tea got married and moved to Danmark country. And that is very far away from Croatia. This stuff is very rare today but it definitely it shouldn't be! Love this bend, so fucking much - from psychodelic moments to punk as fuck moments! Lyrics are also so fucking great, like in song Nova Bolest ("New disease") where she is singing in Croatian:"Bole me noge od hodanja po žici ('My legs are hurting me because walking on wires'), bole me oči od gledanja u prazno ('my eyes are hurting me because watching emptyness')" - very punk poetic stuff if you ask me. Anyway here is the back side of the album, and download link below picture. Enjoy!

I also love their logo so much - so fucking simple, but looks so fucking good!

GENERALI - DEMO COLLECTION (198?.)

It's been a long time since I posted anything new here. Perhaps because I was busy and at the same time, I didn't have anything that I wanted to share with you this way. Anyway - band Genereali (Eng. Generals) are cult 80's Zagreb (Croatia, (than Yugoslavia)) punk band. They are playing they own style of punk and it will be best to you, to decide 'how do they sound to you', because I know what do they like sound to me - but I will keep that personal. <3 Original line-up splited at the end of the 80's, when their singer become, what they call, a 'familly man', and rest 3 members continued to play two (or three?) more years, but eventually they splited up also, because that wasn't the same at all without singer. What is also interesting about their singer, that he is today 'Konzum voice' in their TV and radio commercials in Croatia. If you are living here in Croatia, you will eventually find that fact very funny. :D Anyway, in this download zip package are 10 songs collected from their demo's and ripped by Žikk (thanks!) - so download link is below and I hope that you'll enjoy their songs. Cheers!

KRVAVI PROTOKOL - KRVAVI PROTOKOL (S/T cass 1992.)

Krvavi Protokol (Eng. "Bloody Protocol") is raw punk band from Belgrade, Serbia, formed in year 1990, in year when every dream about Yugoslavia stopped to exist in most people minds, in year when nationalist intellectual elite of countries Serbia and Croatia (and others ex-Yugoslavian countries) massively took control of peoples minds, what leaded to that goddamn bloody war that will come in year 1991 to this Balkan area. So what can you expect from punks at that time? What I know - almost everything. Many people at that time decided to take a nationalist stand, but this band decided to make a stand 'Down all politicians' - song is originally (as all their other songs) on Serbian language named 'Dole svi političari' and drunken translations of that song to English language will go something like this:
Dole sistem, dole vlada! (Down the system, down the government!)
Neću da moj razum strada! (I don't wanna that my intellect die!)
Dole sistem, dole svi! (Down the system, down everyone!)
Svi debeli političari! (Every fat politicians!)
[Chorus start]
Dole svi, dole svi, debeli političari! x4 (Down everyone, down everyone, every goddamn fat politicians! x4)
[Chorus end]
Ja želim da živim kako hoću! (I want to live how I desire to)
Želim da mirno spavam noću! (I want to sleep peacefully at the night)
Neću da umrem tako mlad (I don't wanna die that young)
Da me ubije neki gad! (That some bastard kill me!)
[Chorus start]
Dole svi, dole svi, debeli političari! x4 (Down everyone, down everyone, every goddamn fat politicians! x4)
[Chorus end]
[Politically speech remixed started]
Ja mislim- Ja- Ja mislim- Ja mislim (I think- I- I think- I think)
I ja predlažem- I ja- Ja- Ja- Ja predlažem da glasanjem odlučimo (And I suggest- And I- I- I- I suggest that we decide by voting-)
[Politically speech interrupted by:]
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaAAAAaaaaAAA!!!
Za svoju budućnost ću da se borim! (For my future I will fight!)
Neću da ćutim kad mogu da govorim! (I will not shut up - when I can speak!)
Neću da trunem ja pre vas! (I will not rot before you!)
Sve ću vas pobiti to je moj spas! (I will kill you all - that is my salvation!)
[Chorus start]
Dole svi, dole svi, debeli političari! x4 (Down everyone, down everyone, every goddamn fat politicians! x4)
[Chorus end]

If you ask me - that is one fuckin' great two-minute music bomb that describe very good the anger of that time that is still very actual at this time - if you ask me! And it is very interesting to me the fact that the word 'debeli' (Eng. 'Fat'), sounds very similar to curse word 'jebeni' (Eng. 'goddamn'/'fucking'/etc.) and the way that vocalist sings it - it almost sounds to me like he is singing 'debeli' & 'jebeni' at the same time, which I found very interesting. Anyway, on that Cass (and on this download) are also many other great songs! For example 'Zona X', 'Slepa Planeta' ('Blind Planet') or song 'Ludi naučnik' (Eng. "Crazy scientist") where are they singing about some hypothetical crazy scientist that got Nobel prize for Life Work because of some bomb that can kill all humanity very efficient and you know, when I heard that Barrack Obama got the Nobel Prize for peace while he was, formally speaking - 'leading' three wars at the time over the world, then I don't see why wouldn't some crazy scientist got Nobel Prize for new big suicidal bomb in the future. Song 'Rat' (Eng. 'War') is recorded live from some their concert and it started with dedication that goes (translated) like this:"This is song is for all people that went to fuckin' war" and then most of the recording is pretty much inaudible for my hearing, but I understand the parts when he said (translated):"...and people will disappear and you don't care, this insanity will continue...everywhere only death and sadness...this crap is not stopping" and from that lyrics and others songs, you can hear their anger that will be in 1994 transferred to another Belgrade band called Vox Populi, because band Krvavi Protokol stopped working and playing, because of to me unknown reasons, but I think that some of the members formed another band Vox Populi. Don't take that statement for granted, because I am not sure about last one. As far as I know - this Cass is only release from band Krvavi Protokol. Below is track list and download link. Cheers!

SKÖL - ČISTA PERVERZIJA (LP) (1990.)

I wrote some general information about pure energy punk band Sköl, from Zagreb(Croatia), in post before this, so I am not gonna repeat myself. This is their debut album that was published in famous underground label called "Slušaj najglasnije"(or "Listen loudest" in English) in January 1990. In this phase band sound at the moments experimental and little weird, but on second listening you will (I assume) hear that this is pure & honest hardcore punk with lot of energy & lucidity inside. To me, most awesome their song is called "Lica" ("Faces"). On this album is already male vocalist, with very strong but not macho vocal. Enough - download link is bellow.

Track list:
A1. - Noć
A2. - Čovjek
A3. - Ona
A4. - Jurica
A5. - Kako bih
A6. - Ravno se drži
B1. - Stvarnost
B2. - Lica
B3. - On
B4. - Heroji

SKÖL - Live at Ljubljana 25-05-1984 (1984.)

Sköl was a high energy punk band from Zagreb, Croatia (ex yu), that was formed in (I think) 1983. Word "sköl" in Danish/Norwegian/Swedish language means:"cheers". In their first phase, they were female fronted, but in 1985. because of some reasons that I personally don't know, she and (I think) bass player left the band, and then one guy from Blitzkrieg (Zagreb) come to play bass in the band, and then guitarist from Sköl, started aslo to sing in Sköl. Aaaargh. Maybe this facts are not completely accurate, so if you do know CORRECT facts, please let me know that(via comments or somehow), so that I can update this post, because this is what I did found out about this band from people that weren't sure about that facts. Anyway - in first phase - band sounded very raw with very nihilistic vocals. So, today - I am bringing to you that phase of the band, the only recording of that phase when they were female fronted. This is live recording from Ljubljana (Slovenija), recorded in May 25th, 1984. In two next posts, I am gonna upload other two recordings that band Sköl have ever recorded.

Track list:
01. - Intro
02. - Direktori
03. - Sama sam
04. - Alkohol
05. - Malograđanština
06. - Laj
07. - (unknown title)
08. - Treći čovek

BLITZKRIEG (ZAGREB) - DEMO 1 & 2 plus LIVE (1984.)

Blitzkrieg is the name also from one punk rock band from Zagreb, Croatia (Ex. Yugoslavia) that was active from 1984. to the end of 8os. The band was formed when first version of Zagreb hardcore punk band called Sköl (the one with girl on vocals) split-up and when one of the members from band Solidarnost (see post bellow) came to college in Zagreb. I couldn't find on internet any more similar picture for this band, so I put this one. Anyway, today I am bringing to you all recordings that (I think) they have ever recorded. This band is playing pure punk rock in kind of '77 style, with great vocals, and very raw guitar. The lyrics are about the apathy of 1980s and all the other things connected with that. If you have any more songs from this band, or any other new information, feel free to contact me via shout box or via comments, so that I can update the facts about this band.

SOLIDARNOST - DEMO '82. (1982.)

SOLIDARNOST was raw hardcore punk band from Knin, Croatia (Ex. Yugoslavia) that was active in 1980s. No, this picture is not from their release, I put it here because I can't find on internet more similar picture for that band. Anyway, as I said, this band is full of raw hardcore energy, with very desperate view on this world in its lyrics. This band is definitely underestimated for it's time, because, if you ask me, they sound awesome. But, hear by yourself, if you wish, and make your own experience of this music - if you wish that, of course. xD Band split-ed somewhere in mid-80s, because one member went to live in Zagreb (Croatia) and than he made there new band, called, Blitzkrieg, but, I will write more about Blitzkrieg from Zagreb, in some later posts.
